nother update

Tue Dec 4, 2007, 9:04 PM
I have decided to continue my subway drip pieces for my AP concentration portfolio, so far I am working on my fifth. Two are in my gallery alreay and two need to be photographed and added. There will be twelve in total and they will follow the people on a trip through public transportation of chicago. I make the colors of the background vibrant and very "pretty" and the people are smaller and in black and white. This is to show how the environment of a place often transcends its inhabitants. The transitory people that move through a place are not as great as the location itself.
Other than my sketchbook, these subway pieces are the only art Ive been working on so that I can try to finish 7 more by May and as many of those 7 as possible by February.
I plan on doing more exercises in realism in pencil, colored pencil, and oil to practice my skill in these media and also to work on realism again. Most of my works are architectural and so these will probably invlove the human figure.
I also want to work on letting go of my need for everything i create to be 'good' i want to be able to loosen up and let go and not panic and think that everything i draw will be judged. I tend to feel that all of my art--even sketches and doodles--need to have artistic merit. This keeps me from working as much as I should, which isnt cool.
My goal is to make art every day, even if its some five minute thing, i just need to create more.
on that note....sketchbook time

That sounds so great Theresa! You know that when I come and visit I'm going to harass you for your sketchbook :D I love your ideas... how are you so creative?

AND I'M SO EXCITED. I have so much to share, but i'm not sure what to save to tell you in person or what to write in a note. XD
